Johannes writes after visiting France...

When the day of departure had arrived, I was very exited. I had been waiting for this trip for over a year. When the clock struck 4.30 AM, we went downstairs to set off to the airport. Larsen, Gladis, Evita, Liisbet, teacher Evelyn and teacher Meeli and I were going to France. Larsen, Gladis and teacher Evelyn were in my car, while Evita and Meeli went with Liisbet. When we arrived at the airport, first we checked in and got boarding passes and then we got our bags checked in.  We said good-bye to our loved ones, and boarded the plane. Before flying to Paris, we had a 5-hour long stopover in Munich, Germany. When we arrived, we went sightseeing. We went to a 100-year old square. There were churches everywhere. We even went into one. It had a very high tower. I saw some mountains from there. When our time was up, we went back to the airport. Our fight to Paris was maximum an hour and a half. When we arrived, we waited for our luggage. When those were safely in our possession, we went outside, to pack our things in the car that was supposed to pick us up. After searching for it, the driver came to us and showed us the way to the minibus and then we could start our journey to Grand-Quevilly. We drove for hours. We drove so long, that some of us fell asleep. When we arrived at our destination, we were shown our rooms. They were small rooms, maximum for 3. We were all very hungry, so we decided to have a bite. There was a Chinese restaraunt nearby, we decided to go there. It was all very delicious. After that, we went back to the hotel

Our second day began with having breakfast downstairs all together. We had bread with Nutella, orange juice and yoghurt. After that, two French teachers showed us the way to their school. Their school was a lot bigger than ours. When we arrived, we were shown our hub where all the presentations would take place. After that, we were divided into small groups. Our first stop was at the library, where we made a stop-motion movie. It was really fun. When that was over, there was some kind of interview type of video shoot. It was really weird. After that we had lunch. When our lunch was over, we went to a music class. That was by far the most awesome thing that day. We had to sing along and play instruments. Next we went to the gym where we could try out different acrobatic exercises. It was physically very demanding, especially for me, since I’m not very bendy. Then we were reunited with the rest of the Estonians and went back to the hotel. We decided to have a look around the suburb. We went to a supermarket and after that we got lost. We wandered around for an hour, before asking a local to show us the way to school. We got to school, had dinner and then went back to the hotel.

On the third day we had breakfast as usual. Then we went back to school, to present our presentation. After that we went to another school and had our lunch there. When lunch was over we went by metro to go downtown. When we arrived we were given an hour and a half of free time. We saw the local cathedral and some other places. After that, we went back to the hotel till it was time for greeting party that the French had prepeared for us. First there was dinner, then a fashion-show, where I took part in, after that a welcoming concert, and after that the party. The party was very fun. Everybody had lots of fun. Except Larsen, he was a kind of a buzzkill. When the party was over, we went back to the hotel.

On the fourth day, we went sightseeing. First we went to a fishing village. It was very beautiful there. I bought a hat from there. After that we went to an industrial city. We were given an hour of free time. We had a look around. After that we went to Etretat. It was a very beautiful town by the sea. We had picnic there. T’was fun. After that we went back on the bus and were driven to the hotel. We found out who our hosts for the night were going to be. We packed our presents and went downstairs. When we had arrived at the designated house, we handed over our gifts and had dinner. When our time was up, we went back to the hotel.

On the fifth day, we said good-bye to our new friends, and set off for Paris. First we went to our hotel and left our bags in the luggage room. After that we set off. First we went to Notre-Dame. It was HUGE. I also got a coin there. After that we went to the Louvre. There were thousands of paintings. It was beautiful. Then  we walked towards the Arc de Triumph. It was very beautiful. Also there was a ceremony being held there, so we couldn’t go under the Arc. After that we went to the Eiffel Tower. We waited in line for about 20 minutes. After that we descended up to the tower. The view was amazing. It was the highest I’ve ever been to. After that we went back to the hotel.

Our final day in France began with what else, Breakfast! After that, we went to a local church. After that, we saw a wall that had ’I love you’ written all over it. Literally. Then it was time to go to the airport. This time our stop was yet again in Munich. After that we flew home.
